Welcome to the Resource Room where Learning is Special!
I am so happy to be your child's teacher this year. What a blessing to be able to watch your child grow from Kindergarten to Second Grade. I've been teaching since --- well, let's say, probably before most of you were born, and each year brings many new experiences and opportunities to learn and grow. I cherish the memories that your child makes for me as he/she progresses.
We have kindegarten and 1st graders this year and are teaming with Ms. Amy Ellerman and Brooke Livengood. You can look on their pages for more information about the general education teachers.
We are also fortunate to have two paraprofessonals on our team: Darlene Cramer and Michelle Hager. With their support, your child will have the opportunity for many varied experiences both in and out of the classroom.
You will find me approachable and open to comments or concerns regarding your child's program, and I encourage you to be candid. Working together as a team will ensure that your child has a positive experience while attending Marr-Cook Elementary, K-2.
With that in mind, your child's agenda will serve as our first line of communication for the small stuff -- items your child needs, field trip information, change of phone number/address, or information you think I need to make your child's day successful. A running record of our conversation will be available to keep down any confusion.
However, a written note is not always best, especially when the topic may be personal or family concerns/issues, your child's progress, or other questions/concerns that are best presented over the phone or in person. In that case, please feel free to call me between 2:50 p.m. and 3:15 p.m. to avoid disturbing instructional time. If this is not convenient to you, you may call 513-722-2224 ext 4044 and leave a message. I will return your call as soon as I possibly can.
Of course, Parent-Teacher Conference Nights are scheduled throughout the year and offer another opportunity for obtaining/sharing information about your child's specific needs/program. For some, the conference nights may be sufficient, however, we may choose to meet at other times to develop a specific plan that connects home with school. If you would like to schedule a conference prior to the standard conference night, please put three or four dates/times that you are available in the agenda, and I will respond as soon as possible.
Finally -- unless you can think of another mode of communication -- email is another option. Please feel free to email me at anytime. I check my email after school each day and will respond at that time.
